The Tadayoshi School of Hizen, renowned for the quality of its blades, was founded by Tadayoshi shodai (1572-1632) around 1598 and propped up to Meiji.
Masahiro, also called Sadenjiro, son of Yoshinobu, was without a doubt one of the most representative blacksmiths of this school. He even worked with Tadahiro on behalf of the famous and powerful Nabeshima clan of Kyushu Island who had the title of Daimyo.
His initial signature was « Masanaga » and he turned it into « Masahiro » in 1625. He received the title of « Kawachi no Daijo » in 1628.
He formed his own lineage of blacksmiths that lasted up to ten generations, all named Masahiro.
